We were recently kindly gifted a Slumbersac Sleeping bag. I am a massive fan of baby sleeping bags so I was delighted about this. The designs looked adorable and the website was very user friendly and easy to navigate. I spent a chunk of my evening scrolling through the beautiful designs and eventually decided upon this beautiful blue sleeping bag which is dotted with gorgeous little stars. I loved the colour and the option to order it in 1 tog for the summer months.
But do you know what I really loved? It had FEET in it. That's right - this particular Slumbersac Sleeping Bag had the innovative design where your child's feet are free to pop out the end. I had no idea that these even existed.
I am a big fan of the whole wind down stage of the evening. Billy is an on-paper terrible twos little dude right now so a period of calm is so necessary for him before bed. We like to put his PJS on and read stories with no television on for at least an hour or so before bed (during which time he nearly always does a number in his nappy... but that's another days blog post). Part of our current bed-time routine is to put him in a sleeping bag before he goes to sleep. He was never a fan of blankets and they completely frustrate him and end up being kicked off in anger. A sleeping bag is the perfect solution to ensure he is warm and cosy in the safest possible way.
The fact that these sleeping bags have feet in them means that we can actually put the sleeping bag on Billy for quite some time before he goes to bed. As he winds down he can run free throughout the house without the fear of him tripping up. When he falls asleep you can then easily pop his feet back up in to the sleeping bag. What a genius design!
We have a VERY active toddler on our hands so you can see in the photos below he is well and truly mobile in this sleeping bag.
What tends to happen in our house is that Billy very suddenly gets tired and cranky. There is a little "window" where he needs to go to bed and if we miss that window it's a bit of a disaster. Having Billy in his sleeping bag already means that we can easily take him to his cot without any fuss.
